Agenda Summary: This one-day course will cover the history of hot mix asphalt facilities, batch and drum mix processes, sources and control of pollutants, legal requirements, inspection procedures, and safety. Following the classroom instruction, there will be a field visit to an asphalt facility where general asphalt production operations will be discussed.

Target Audience: The course is offered solely to regulatory agency stationary source inspectors, permit writers, and other staff who are in need of a working knowledge of continuous emission monitoring systems and applications.
Location: Louisville, KY
Host Facility: The course will be presented at the Fairfield Inn – Louisville Downtown, 100 East Jefferson, Louisville KY 40202
Lodging Facility: Hotel rooms are available at the Fairfield Inn under the room block name “CARB 200 Training” at a rate of $97.00 single occupancy plus 15.01% tax ($111.56 per night). Call 1-502-671-4790 or 1-877-545-0352 to make a reservation.
Ground Transportation: The hotel does not offer an airport shuttle. The hotel is about 8 miles/10 minutes/a $17 taxi ride from the airport. Parking follows this schedule: Under 20 min = free, 20 min to 2 hours = $5.00, anything over 2 hours = $9.00. Overnight parking is $9.00

Miscellaneous Notes: Please remember to bring your safety equipment – shoes, hard hat, and ear/eye protection. Breakfast and refreshments and light snacks at the breaks will be provided. Lunch/dinner will be on your own.
Completion of this course requires taking a pre-test and post-test. A score of 70% or better on the post-test is required to earn a course certificate.
The instructor, provided by NCOA/CARB, will be Joe Yager.
This is the third of four 1-day courses to be presented at this location this week. Attendance at all four courses is not required.
