Agenda Summary: This course explores process and emission control equipment and inspection procedures for small to medium-sized solid waste incinerators including biomedical and pathological incinerators, crematories and commercial heat stripping ovens. This course does not address municipal waste combustors or biomass or hazardous waste incinerators. There will be an afternoon field visit to a municipal incinerator. See safety equipment requirement below.

Target Audience: This course is intended for stationary source inspectors, permit writers, and other regulatory staff from the Southeastern Air Pollution Agencies who are in need of industry-specific training and is available only to air pollution control agency personnel. Unfilled course seats will be offered to agencies outside the Southeast.

Lodging Facility: Hotel rooms are available at Courtyard by Marriott Tampa North 13575 Cypress Glen Lane, Tampa, FL 33637. When making reservations ask for the Room block name “CARB 200”. Early reservations are recommended and should be completed by July 24, 2012. The hotel offers a full hot breakfast buffet in the mornings from 6:30- 10am for $8.95/person plus 7% tax. ($9.58 total)
Ground Transportation: Ground transportation is available via a 6-passenger shuttle that runs every 30 minutes starting at 7:00 am. Contact the front desk to confirm any shuttle service to the training site which is 0.9 miles away.
Registration Procedures: To complete your registration(s), click on “Login/Register” at the bottom of this page. If you have an existing ID in the system, enter it and your password, click “Login,” and then click on “Sign up for training/workshops” to register. If you do not have an ID on our system, click on “click here to sign up” and follow the set-up prompts. When you have completed the set-up process, you may register for the course as described herein. You will receive and email if you have successfully completed the registration process.

Miscellaneous Notes: Attendance at all four of this series of courses is not required. You may register for any combination of courses that meets your agency’s needs. 

Safety equipment needed: Hard Hat, Safety Shoes (steel toe), Safety glasses , Ear plugs ,Yellow/Orange Vest
 

Please arrive no later than 8:15 a.m. to give time for entry into the building, registration and distribution of materials. A photo I.D. will be needed to access the building. The course will begin promptly at 8:30 am. 

Snacks and refreshments are available through vending machines across the hall. 

Remember to bring your safety equipment for the field visit. This includes safety shoes, hard hat, vest, and hearing and eye protection.
