ASSISTANT DIRECTOR  (Air Pollution Control District)

This job reports to the Director
Relocation is not provided and travel is not required.
This is a Full-Time position, working 1st Shift.

Overview
Essential Functions:

Under general direction performs administrative work.

Responsible for assisting a Director in the operation of an agency in planning and developing new procedures, formulating policy and preparing budgetary data.
Assumes responsibility for the agency in the absence of the Director and possesses signatory powers in such absence.
Exercises supervision over subordinate personnel.

Examples Of Work
UNDER GENERAL DIRECTION:

Assists the Director in coordinating internal staff activities and administrative assignments to accomplish agency goals and objectives.
Plans expenditures for budget preparation and Director’s consideration.
Assists in determining departmental policies and planning long term programs.
Compiles reports and statistics and insures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and guidelines.
Prepares memoranda and non-routine correspondence.
Plans, guides and directs the research, analysis and preparation of specialized or technical reports in assigned areas of responsibility.
Conveys assignments to various organizational units.
Responds to complaints from public.
Represents the agency to the public.
Performs related work.

Desirables:

This position is the Executive Director of the Louisville/Jefferson County Air Pollution Control District and serves as the Air Pollution Control Officer. This position is responsible for the operation of the Air Pollution Control District including divisional activity coordination, regulatory process improvement, planning and developing new procedures, formulating policy, and preparing budgetary data.



Job Skills/Requirements
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree in a field closely related to agency assignment, such as Personnel Administration, Business Administration, Public Administrator or a degree directly related to agency assignment.

Four years of working experience in assignment related field, two of which must have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted, but must include two years of administrative or supervisory experience.


Additional Information/Benefits
Minimum Salary: $63,351.60/Annually
